Ian Shaw, BBC Award winner for Best Male Jazz Vocalist on numerous occasions, started out as a stand–up comedian. He graduated to singing with Quincy Jones and Dame Cleo Laine, and has played the Devil in Jerry Springer the Opera. Throughout 2011, Ian was on tour with Rory Bremner, singing and honing material for his new one-man show A Bit Of A Mouthful.
This evening will highlight all of Ian’s performing skills, from poignant or witty takes on popular songs, to daring and often very personal tales of a jazz singer’s life on the road.
Expect funny, new original ditties and hilarious audience participation alongside heartfelt ballads from his critically acclaimed solo album Somewhere Towards Love.
