Chickenshed created the ShedLink inclusive theatre training and development programme in 2000 in order to impact on the performing arts provision in the U.K. by creating a wider and deeper understanding of inclusive theatre practice.
We established inclusive theatre groups led by artistic leaders trained in the Chickenshed inclusive creative method which progress to independence. Each ‘Shed’ develops its own creative direction but remains associated with Chickenshed by a shared vision of inclusive theatre – its philosophy and practice.
ShedLink is now a growing network of independent ‘Sheds' working with the Chickenshed inclusive creative method. We have established nineteen ‘Sheds’ across the U.K. and two in Russia, in St. Petersburg and Moscow. Each ‘Shed’ has its own Children’s & Youth Theatre groups and some have gone on to establish an adult performing Company, schools outreach work and early years activities.
