A Pyjama-tastic Prize...  Coming to see The Midnight Gang at Chickenshed? Why not dress in your PJ's (just like the Gang) and you could be in with a chance of winning a copy of The Midnight Gang signed by none other than David Walliams himself!*

When the clock strikes midnight most children are fast asleep, but for the Midnight Gang the journey is just beginning.

Five children find themselves in hospital for a variety of reasons, including Tom who’s been hit on the head by a cricket ball and really doesn’t want to go back to school. They soon discover that something far more exciting is happening beyond the confines of the children’s ward. A heart-warming and hilarious tale of fun, friendship and adventure ensues, all under the cover of darkness when the horrible matron is sure they are all fast asleep.

Writer David Walliams has already created an amazingly rich collection of children’s fiction, and is rightly seen by many as the natural successor and inheritor of Roald Dahl’s off-beat and wacky world of subversive and anarchic stories for children. Since making his debut into the world of children’s literature in 2008, David Walliams has celebrated exceptional success. His global sales total over 17 million copies and his work has been translated into over 53 languages. Last year, The Midnight Gang, went straight to No. 1
in the overall book charts and remained there for seven weeks.  It was the industry’s biggest selling book for Christmas and was the Christmas No, 1 making it the first children’s No. 1 since J K Rowling in 2008.

Chickenshed is hugely proud and excited to be bringing The Midnight Gang to the stage for the very first time - our production will feature a cast of professional actors, as well as members of our student programme, and will be directed by Chickenshed’s Artistic Director, Lou Stein.

Join Chickenshed and the Midnight Gang for an unforgettable midnight adventure - it’s going to be brilliant!!!
