"as the mother of a brown boy..." Rehearsal process episode 3

As our inclusive creative process is unique, we feel it is important that people understand what we do and how we do it, by sharing our methods and our processes. Therefore, every two weeks we will be bringing you updates on our rehearsal process for "as the mother of a brown boy...", allowing you access behind the scenes.

This includes a blog from Mekbul Jemal, a dancer from Ethiopia who is working with us on this project. Read about his unique take on the progression of the show and the differences of working and living in London versus Ethiopia. Click on the pdf to read the third installment, this week talking about how he is finding the rehearsal process so far and how the piece is coming together.

You can also see some footage of our rehearsal process giving you the unique chance to see how a production like this is created. As we workshop the scenes to get inspiration and test ideas, you will be able to see how the production starts to come to life. Please click on the video opposite to watch our third excerpt of the rehearsal process in action, particularly focussing on the 'boxes' which form an integral part of our set and props.
