On Wednesday 16th July, Lady Jane Rayne hosted our Annual Founders' Summer Reception. This event was set up to acknowledge and celebrate the great support we receive from individuals through our Patron's Scheme, the Gala, and other fundraising initiatives.
Guests were invited to a champagne reception before the evening performance of SeaChange and had the opportunity to meet Guest of Honour, Lord Richard Attenborough CBE.
Lord Attenborough gave an eloquent and emotional speech before the performance and officially named a bursary scheme (launched at last year's Gala) in memory of his daughter and grandchild who he lost in the 2005 Tsunami. Mary Ward rose to the challenge of following such a speech absolutely magnificently and spoke with great passion about Chickenshed and SeaChange. And guests were treated to a fabulous performance of SeaChange - a great reminder as to why they support us.
