Vanity Fair

‘Vanitas Vanitatum! Which of us is happy in this world? Which of us has his desire? Or, having it, is satisfied?’
Vanity Fair, William Makepeace Thackeray

Chickenshed adapts William Makepeace Thackeray’s satirical epic novel of love, loss and social adventure.

As you follow Becky Sharp and all of Vanity Fair’s extraordinarily rich characters, you will be transported back in time to Victorian Britain and embark on an historic voyage of social discovery through a captivating extravaganza of drama, dance and music in our wonderfully exuberant and inimitable style.

Chickenshed’s Vanity Fair will be performed in an entertaining cabaret-style celebration of social diversity, in which you will be given the opportunity to sit at tables and eat, drink and be merry whilst watching the story unfold.

This will undoubtedly be a captivating, high-octane production that will be sure to take your breath away.

And new to this production: for the first time, Chickenshed will open up its workshop and rehearsal process to those who want to experience our unique creative process. Audiences will be invited to the initial workshop phase (Black and White), a dress rehearsal (Colour), and thereafter to a number of ‘finished’ performances (High Definition).

Buy a season ticket to all three!
