Old Possum's Practical Trust is a charitable organisation with interests in a range of causes, which include literacy, literature, the arts, and children's causes. This particular combination led to the Trust's initial support for Chickenshed when their grant assisted our centenary production of JM Barrie's Peter Pan.
Having learned something more of our methods and having seen the results that Chickenshed is able to achieve, the Trust has subsequently supported Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Grimm Nights & Everafter Days, A Christmas Carol and will continue its backing this year with a grant towards The Twelve Days of Christmas.
Trustees from the Old Possum's Practical Trust visit Chickenshed whenever possible to see our work at first hand (as we encourage all of our supporters to do). In seeking out sources of support, we always endeavour to find 'a good fit' between our own aims and those of the supporter, and then strive to ensure that those aims are achieved. We believe this is why supporters like the Old Possum's Practical Trust have returned to fund us over a number of years and why we hope they will continue to do so.
