Yard Gal in the Studio Theatre, 12th February to 29th February 2008
Yard Gal follows Marie and Boo, two teenage girls from Hackney, who spend their time chatting, cussing, raving, hustling and getting high: ‘best mates from time’ trying to cope with life in inner city London. But when Boo takes the rap for a crime Marie commits, can their friendship survive?
Uncompromising in its language and treatment of London gang life, Yard Gal is a contemporary two-hander that captures the struggle, spirit and heartache of life on the streets.
This production is part of a new series of works from Chickenshed for our Studio Theatre which gives opportunities to emerging talents and a chance to explore plays that might not always be part of our mainstream programme.
Not suitable for under 16s – contains very strong language throughout.
