We were incredibly proud of our Year 2 BTEC Programme Manager Belinda who was awarded the Keith Hutton Legacy Award for Theatre and Performing Arts 2018 back in April. Here’s what Belinda had to say about receiving the award.

It was late December when our Artistic Director Lou Stein first mentioned the idea of putting me forward to receive the  Keith Hutton Legacy Award for Theatre and Performing Arts – in all honestly I never thought I would get it!  Seeing previous recipients, I felt a bit of a fraud! However, when the letter came to say the four judges were unanimous in their approval I was rather shocked, to say the least. Putting aside my feelings, what’s most important to me is that it is wonderful that Chickenshed has been acknowledged by the ‘outside world’ in this kind of setting.”

It is wonderful that Chickenshed has been acknowledged in this kind of setting

So even though it’s my name on The Worshipful Company of Educators – Keith Hutton Legacy Award for Theatre and Performing Arts 2018, this is an award for all of Chickenshed – my work colleagues, the Children’s Theatre, the Youth Theatre, the Students, the Volunteers – all of whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with and learning from over many years. I thank you.
