Chickenshed have launched a new project running theatre workshops with those living in the shadow of the Grenfell tower.  James Dunbar, Creative Producer at our Kensington & Chelsea branch tells us,

"Chickenshed's new Children's Theatre project is a direct response to the awful Grenfell fire tragedy that happened in June of this year. Many schools we were working with at the time for our Dreams of Freedom performance at the Royal Albert Hall were directly affected, and following some initial workshops, we felt there was more we could do in the aftermath of this catastrophic event.  Thanks to support from The City Bridge Trust, this project will run for a full year. It will be delivered in a primary school in the shadow of the Grenfell Tower on Mondays after school. We are targeting children through teachers and community groups so we know we are reaching the most affected families and offering them a fantastic opportunity for them to express themselves, meet new friends, develop performing arts skills and boost their confidence within their local community."

If you would like to find out about attending the project, please contact Jane Saunders.

You can see some of our workshops in action, and hear about the impact the work has had on local children 6 months on from the Grenfell fire, in this Good Morning Britain feature.
