ICAP Charity Day Chickenshed were absolutely delighted to be selected as one of 200 charities around the world to be supported by the 2016 ICAP Charity Day. This has been no mean feat, as hundreds of charities apply for just 12 UK places, and the application process is comprehensive and highly competitive. We are extremely proud to have made it through ICAP’s rigorous selection process, and feel this is fantastic validation for the quality of Chickenshed’s work. On Wednesday 7 December, a team of Chickenshed staff attended the day to represent our cause, and to host our numerous celebrity ambassadors. Our guests did a fantastic job getting on the phones to help ICAP’s brokers close deals to raise as much money as possible for charity, and helping to generate global press interest for the event. We were delighted to welcome Michelle Collins, Jeremy Vine, Anneka Rice, Tulisa Contostavlos, Natalie Cassidy, Nicholas Parsons, Lindsey Coulson, Patricia Hodge, Jason Isaacs, Rory Bremner, Nickolas Grace, Christopher Biggins, Dame Janet Suzman DBE, Maria Friedman and Elaine Paige OBE who all did a fabulous job supporting Chickenshed The day was extremely successful and ICAP raised an incredible £8,200,000, bringing the total amount raised by ICAP over 24 years to nearly £135 million! We’re so proud to have been a part of this. We would like to say an enormous thank you to ICAP’s Charity Day team: Nikki, Katy, Stella and Nicola, for all their hard work and support throughout the process, and to everyone at ICAP for making us so welcome and being so helpful and generous. We had a wonderful day, and so did all of our many celebrity ambassadors. Chickenshed will use the funding we receive to train new practitioners to deliver our renowned Crime of the Century performance and workshop programme, tackling knife and gang crime across London and beyond. We are very excited to be able to offer this fantastic training opportunity to graduates of our inclusive education courses, enabling us to double our delivery capacity within four years.
