Plays on the Internet

We are delighted to have collaborated with Plusnet, Internet Matters and children’s author Konnie Huq to create Plusnet Plays on the Internet.

Plusnet Plays on the Internet are three plays that tackle the important issue of internet safety through theatre and were devised to help parents ensure that they have the tools to talk to their children about staying safe online.

Konnie Huq said:

As a mother and someone who has grown up with technology, I know how challenging it can be to stay aware of and support your child’s online activity. Hopefully these stories will act as a starting point for parents and children to discuss online safety together in a non-threatening and fun way. The process of working with Chickenshed has been fantastic and the kids really helped bring the scripts to life.

Collaborating with Plusnet, Internet Matters and Konnie Huq was a hugely rewarding experience for us, in that were we able to share our inclusive way of working as well as learn more about important topics relevant to young digital natives today. One of our Young Company members said:

Sometimes it can be awkward speaking to my parents about internet stuff. These plays were so fun to act in and we realised that we actually had learned a lot about the internet…and aliens!

The scripts for each of the plays, along with workshop tips for schools, youth groups and parents – are now available to download and we look forward to sharing the three Plusnet Plays on the Internet once they are made available.
