Lily Smith’s Reindeer Run

Lily has been a part of Chickenshed since she was very little and says that she has ‘been lucky enough to take part in performances with other children of all abilities and disabilities from all different backgrounds.’

In December 2016, Lily decided to raise money for Chickenshed by taking part in the fun and festive Battersea Park Reindeer Run. This took a huge amount of initiative, heart and commitment. Lily set up her own ‘Just Giving page’ and told her friends and family all about what she was doing. As a part of Chickenshed’s Kensington and Chelsea Youth Theatre, Lily knows that half of the children in the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea attend private schools but that 42% of the children in the Borough are from low income families. Lily wanted to help raise money to reach other children so that they are able to get the same opportunities that she does, which we think is an amazing thing to want to do.

Lily was fantastic on the day of the run; she finished the 5k in less than 25 minutes and came 5th in the women’s race! On top of this Lily raised nearly £1,000 for Chickenshed – incredible!
