Latest News The London Marathon: 26 Miles in 26 Pairs of Shoes Yesterday marked one of the greatest days in British sport and one of the largest annual fundraising events in the world - the 39th running of The Virgin Money London Marathon. Over 40,000 people took part in the marathon, and 26 of those amazing people were part of Team Chickenshed. We couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of respect, love and gratitude as each of our runners crossed the finish line. Not only have they trained for months in both the freezing cold and beating heat in order to complete the gruelling 26.2 miles, but they have also collectively raised over £45,000 (and counting) to better the lives of others. From organising murder mystery evenings and quiz nights to completing Tough Mudders, our runners have given up so much time and energy to fundraise for our cause. Chickenshed needs to raise over £4 million every single year to keep bringing young people from all social and economic backgrounds, cultures and abilities together to learn from and work creatively alongside each other. Every penny donated to Chickenshed goes towards securing a better and brighter future, a future where nobody is ever excluded. We are so thankful for our supporters who continue to believe in the power of inclusivity and our absolutely extraordinary runners who took on the ultimate challenge yesterday to help us continue to change lives. All of their fundraising pages are still active, so if you’re feeling just a little bit in awe of these brilliant individuals then please do donate whatever you can spare.
