Chickenshed recognises the value of our stage as a platform to raise questions, share perspectives, and present voices that often remain unheard. We believe that theatre is at its most powerful when it reflects a combination of the lived experience and storytelling. In this way we are able to represent truth, whilst still providing the opportunity to imagine beyond.

Following our response - led by our young people - to the Black Lives Matter movement via our social media channels, and our recent YouTube Premiere of our 2017 Spring Show, Blowin' in the Wind - which explored the concept of civil rights in a way that acknowledges the specific struggle of particular communities throughout history and in the present day - we wanted to share ways we can all help support this movement.
