Chickenshed wins Silver in Charity Film Awards!

On Friday 26 April Chickenshed attended the 2019 Charity Film Awards ceremony after being selected as finalists for the award. The awards celebrate the very best films that have been created for registered charities and CICs within the UK.

Hosted by the wonderful Sally Phillips, the evening was absolutely electrifying. It was fantastic to see so many brilliant charities come together to celebrate the power of film. Nearly 400 charities enter each year, so even to have been shortlisted is an incredible feat. The standard of the films was exceptional, with founder Simon Burton saying,

The quality of the films in this year’s Charity Film Awards was better than ever. Inspirational, heart-breaking and heart-warming films that make a real difference to incredible causes.

We are over the moon to have won the silver award with our inspiring short film I Am Michael, which is part of the We Are Chickenshed series. This film has a vital message for young people – that where you are from or where you have been does not have to dictate where you will end up. Michael’s story shows others that taking a different path in life is not only possible, but more fulfilling and life-affirming, and we are so grateful that this has been recognised by the Charity Film Awards.

We are brimming with gratitude for the extraordinary support and votes we received for the awards and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us show the world just what can be achieved when we nurture a society that includes everyone.
