Latest News Volunteer's Week - Jillie's Story This week is Volunteer’s Week. We could not continue to reach out to the people that need it the most without our volunteers and are so grateful to each and every one of them who give their time, energy and skills to change the lives of others. This week we asked some of our volunteers to share with us why it is that they support us, and what they enjoy about it. This is Jillie's story. I have always known of Chickenshed and the great work it does and regularly saw their amazing productions. At one stage I became a patron and then regularly donated, but once I retired I was no longer able to do this, so decided to give my time. I became a Front of House volunteer – where you are always appreciated and valued. Everyone is welcoming and helpful at Chickenshed, after all that is their ethos, and you get to meet a variety of people. Chickenshed never stands still and everyone within it can see its benefits to the community – it is great to be part of it. Chickenshed never stands still and everyone within it can see its benefits to the community I am now a duty manager which carries some responsibility, but basically for all of us in Front of House, we just want the audiences to have a wonderful experience when visiting Chickenshed and it is an honour to be part of the teams working to ensure that we do just that. You can give as little or as much of your time and your managers always accommodate any concerns or scheduling problems you encounter – you are supported all the way.
