On Saturday the 23rd of February, we hosted an event to celebrate 'Decade 2' of our 50 years - and more importantly our founders Mary, Jo and Chickenshed’s first CEO John Bull as the leaders who found Chickenshed 'a place of our own' in Enfield.

The Rayne Theatre and cafe were full of the deep joy and gratitude that happens when memories are given names, faces and voices. We are so lucky to have Mary and Jo so present in our daily activities.

To have John's straight-talking wisdom and bold ambition back in the building was everything we needed to feel fully launched into this year.

A Place of Our Own

The event, named after a similar event held on March the 13th 1988 also called ‘A Place of Our Own’, a performance which kick-started the process of getting Chickenshed its own building, will consist of a performance by Chickenshed members, both past and present, of remastered songs which were performed at this original ‘A Place of Our Own’ event.
