Chickenshed offers plenty of exciting volunteering opportunities, ranging from behind-the-scenes involvement in our annual Christmas show to front-of-house and office support roles.

Our Volunteering Roles

  • Front of House

A Front of House Volunteer provides a warm welcome and a safe environment to ensure our audiences enjoy their experience. You will join a friendly diverse team and receive full training and guidance.

Our Front of House team is currently at full capacity. We will update this section when we are recruiting again.

  • Backstage

We have opportunities for volunteers to support us Backstage during the Christmas Productions which run from November to January.

We will post an update here in the Autumn - we are not recruiting right now.

  • Set Painting

If you have artistic skills, you can sign up for our set painting weekend which takes place in October – playing an important role in getting the set ready for the Christmas show.

We will post an update here in the Autumn - we are not recruiting right now.

  • Tales from the Shed

Tales from the Shed are vibrant, inclusive and interactive theatre shows that are perfect for young children. If you have performance or artistic skills, we would like to hear from you!

We are looking for volunteers to be involved in our summer programme of events.  All performers will need to be aged over 18 years. We will also consider offering placements to students on Applied Theatre courses.

"I really enjoyed volunteering Backstage and in FOH. Everyone I met in both areas was lovely and I found it a great privilege to be involved."
