What we're looking for

Chickenshed is recruiting for a Café / Bar Supervisor to help lead on the provision of all our bar & catering requirements and to bring a fresh approach to expand the business.

The café/bar is a busy and varied environment, during the day serving staff and 150 full-time Further and Higher Education Students, and during the evenings serving public audiences attending shows, music events and comedy nights for our 2 theatres, plus children & adults attending weekly workshop sessions.

Spaces at Chickenshed are also regularly hired out for external shows, parties and events. With over 20,000 visitors a year through our door, we are a busy venue, and hub of the community. The cafe currently stocks pre-packaged sandwiches, paninis and a range of snacks. We are looking for the Café Supervisor to bring new ideas to help grow the business further.

We are looking for candidates with previous supervisory experience in a customer-facing role, who enjoy working in a lively atmosphere and are good at creating a welcoming, clean & safe environment for all our café users. The Café/Bar Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team of part-time staff, at times there will be 4 staff on duty to serve audiences, at some quieter times the Café/Bar Supervisor can be the sole employee on duty, so a hands-on approach is required for this role.
