Your Visit

What time should I arrive before a performance?

You should aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before any Chickenshed event.

I'm running late, can I still get in to see the show?

Unless the show is advertised as strictly no latecomers, you're welcome to come in late. You may have to wait until an appropriate moment in the show to let you in and you may have to sit in a different seat to your allocated one.

Do you serve food and drink?

Yes! You can purchase tasty snacks and soft or alcoholic drinks at the Chickenshed Café.

Can I use cash to purchase refreshments and merchandise?

Yes, we take cash.

Is there a cloakroom available for coats and bags?

No we don't have a cloakroom or storage facility, so please avoid bringing large bags or luggage with you as they won't be allowed into our performance spaces.

Can I take a pram or pushchair into the performance?

We have space in our staffed cafe area to leave prams or pushchairs as there is no space in the auditorium.

Is there free Wi-Fi available for visitors?

Yes! We have free public WiFi.

Are programmes or merchandise available for purchase during performances?

We have a merchandise stand open before most main-house performances.

What are your rules on children coming to performances?

Under 15s attending a performance must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over unless they are a member of our Youth Theatre.

All children over the age of 24 months must have their own ticket. Children under 24 months years old do not need a ticket and should be seated on an adult’s lap. There are different rules for children's shows so please see the details on the individual page for that show.

All children in your party must be supervised by an accompanying adult at all times.

We understand that childcare can sometimes be a barrier for parents attending the theatre so if you need to bring your child to an event outside our children’s programme, you should

- Check suitability, content and age recommendation of the event.
- Be mindful and respectful of other customers’ enjoyment of the event before attending with babes in arms/children.
- Try to book a seat near an aisle/exit so you can leave the event should your child become restless.

For safety reasons, children under the age of 7 are not permitted to sit in the Gallery under any circumstances and may be refused entry.

Can I bring a babe in arms?

We welcome babes in arms to children’s shows
