The ceremony honouring lifetime achievement and special recognition of volunteers in Enfield was held on Friday, April 26th, in the Council Chamber at Enfield Civic Centre.

Since December 2021, the yearly Lifetime Achievement and Special Recognition Volunteer Awards have been celebrating the wonderful generosity that the Enfield community bring to the table. Nominations flooded in from locals, groups, and organisations, showing just how much these everyday heroes mean to everyone around them.

Special Recognition Awards

This year, two of our volunteers Lloyd Cunningham and Robert Goodwin, were awarded Special Recognition Awards.

Lloyd Cunningham has been volunteering with Chickenshed with our theatre management team and front-of-house team since November 2015. Lloyd has devoted many hours to volunteering for different departments. From 2015-2022 Lloyd’s volunteering hours totalled an incredible 1348. In the last nine months of this financial year, he has already volunteered 404 hours and last year his accrued hours totalled 503, marking him as one of our most dedicated volunteers.

Robert Goodwin joined our volunteering team in November 2021. He works full time, but is keen to dedicate his spare time to Chickenshed backstage and as part of our front-of-house team, so he can gain new experiences in Production and because he values the inclusive ethos of Chickenshed. This financial year, Robert has accrued 86 volunteering hours over the Christmas period and last year, his hours totalled an amazing 216.

This award highlights the dedication of our volunteers, and we are excited to spotlight individuals like Lloyd and Robert whose unwavering commitment to Chickenshed in their volunteering roles shines through each time they walk through our doors.
