Chickenshed offers plenty of exciting volunteering opportunities, ranging from behind-the-scenes involvement in our annual Christmas show to front-of-house and office support roles.

Our Volunteering Roles

  • Front of House

    A Front of House Volunteer provides a warm welcome and a safe environment to ensure our audiences enjoy their experience. You will join a friendly diverse team and receive full training and guidance.

  • Backstage

    We have opportunities for volunteers to support us Backstage during the Christmas Productions which run from November to January. You will need to get in touch by October at the latest to be considered for this role.

  • Set Painting

    If you have artistic skills, you can sign up for our set painting weekend which takes place in October – playing an important role in getting the set ready for the Christmas show. If you are interested in this role, please get in touch by the end of September.

  • Helping in the Office

    Volunteers provide us with Administrative Support within a range of departments – Human Resources, Theatre Management, Membership, Marketing, Archiving let us know if you have basic IT skills and we will try to match your skills to available roles.

  • Costume Department

    You don’t need to be a super at sewing to join our Costume Department, an interest in Costumes is ideal. Currently we are looking for Volunteers to support the team during the Christmas Production, you will need basic sewing skills and be able to reassure and help out our Cast Members if there is a costume emergency.
