What is the Wonder Walk

To celebrate our 50th anniversary we are excited to invite you to join us at our first ever Wonder Walk!

On Sun 9 Jun hundreds of people will meet and take part in walking our accessible 5K, or 10K routes around the surrounding areas of Chickenshed and help us reach our goal of raising a minimum of £40,000 through individual and team fundraising.

Join us at our welcome reception from 9.30am on the day, take part in a lively warm-up at 10.45am and get ready to set off on your chosen route at 11am!

Everyone who signs up for the Wonder Walk will receive a free Chickenshed Wonder Walk t-shirt and a goody bag* that you can collect beforehand or on the day.  We're asking everyone who signs up to raise a minimum of £100.

Support us

Why join us?

Our first ever Wonder Walk will inspire our community to join us in fundraising for Chickenshed, so our doors stay open and we can continue to support children and young people for another 50 years.

We've spent 5 decades breaking the mould and today we support over 15,000 children and young people each year.

Over 60% have experienced isolation and exclusion due to mental or physical ill-health, disability, bullying, gang pressure, interactions with the care system or being a young carer themselves. For many, Chickenshed is their safety net and second home.

The £40,000 raised through the Wonder Walk will directly fund our important work with children and young people.

More ways to support

You can help out at the Wonder Walk by getting involved with one of the many roles on the day, or by sponsoring the walk. Find out more below.
