Why Study at Chickenshed?

For the past 40 years we have been leading the way in inclusive performance and our students are right at the heart of our work.

Working alongside our professional team of actors, musicians, choreographers, dancers, writers and directors, Chickenshed students have the unique opportunity to learn and perform in a working theatre both onstage and behind the scenes. Our Level 3 and Undergraduate courses in Performing Arts and Inclusive Performance are nationally recognised and accredited to both Edexcel and Middlesex University. Our BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (rated ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED) has a 98% pass rate, while 70% of our Foundation or BA graduates achieve at least a 2:1.

Opportunities for everyone

We know that talent and passion cannot be measured purely by exam results or ‘traditional’ academic benchmarks. To produce outstanding results, we harness the potential of outstanding people which is why our student groups are fully inclusive. As long as you meet the age requirements and can demonstrate previous experience, either within or outside formal education, Chickenshed could be the place for you.

Why not come and see for yourself at one of our Open Days?

Michael completed his studies at Chickenshed and now works as an artistic staff member and an integral member of the outreach team, taking on performance delivery and organisational roles.
