Smells Like Teen Spirit!

It smells like teen spirit! Feel the Love lands again at Chickenshed this week with a cast of over 200 young people exploring what it is to love and be loved. Snow White Writers Room

Our Artistic Director Lou Stein is currently working with a small group of students and Young Company members to develop a new adaptation of Snow White. The sessions have been creative, imaginative and inspiring. Every fortnight, on a Thursday afternoon, ideas for themes, story and characters are being explored. Read more

Leaping off the Edge of the Chalk Pit

From the very first Stig of the Dump workshop with our Children’s Theatre in 2016, to the first run of the production as part of Chickenshed Young Company’s New Routes Festival in 2018, this project has grown through the guidance and leadership of Chickenshed’s young people. Chickenshed wins Silver in Charity Film Awards!

On Friday 26 April Chickenshed attended the 2019 Charity Film Awards ceremony after being selected as finalists. The awards celebrate the very best films that have been created for registered charities and CICs within the UK. Hosted by the wonderful Sally Phillips, the evening was electrifying. Nearly 400 charities enter each year, so we are over the moon to have won the silver award with our inspiring short film I Am Michael as part of the We Are Chickenshed series. Read more

The London Marathon: 26 Miles in 26 Pairs of Shoes

Yesterday marked one of the greatest days in British sport and one of the largest annual fundraising events in the world - the 39th running of The Virgin Money London Marathon. Over 40,000 people took part in the marathon, and 26 of those amazing people were part of Team Chickenshed. Read more
